Yanze Jiang - Chinese ceramist 
Yanze Jiang is a Chinese ceramist and teacher. She was born in Jiang Su Province in 1975. In 1997 she earned a BFA from the Nanjing Arts Institute and in 2002 she received an MFA from Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute. She now teaches at the Nanjing Arts Institute. In 2003 she was visiting artist at the Jam Factory Ceramic Workshop in Adelaide, Australia, and at the Australian National University in Canberra.

Martin Brothers - Eccentric British potters 
The Martin Brothers pottery was founded by the eldest of the group, Robert Wallace Martin (1843–1923), who had trained in sculpture at Lambeth School of Art and later at the Royal Academy of Art.

Gurucharan and Mansimran Singh - Pioneer Indian studio potters 
Gurcharan Singh (1898-1995) graduated from the Prince of Wales College in Jammu (now Pakistan) with a Bachelor's degree in geology and chemistry in 1918. After accepting a job at a brick factory run by his father’s friend Ram Singh Kabuli, he became an apprentice with Abdullah Musalmaan, a descendant of a famous line of Pathan potters who came to India in the thirteenth century. In 1919 Singh went to Japan to study industrial ceramics. There, he met Yanagi Soetsu, Bernard Leach, Tomimoto Kenkichi and Shoji Hamada.

Eva Zeisel - Hungarian-born American studio potter and designer 

Eva Zeisel was born in Hungary in 1906. She initially trained in painting in Britain, then, in the tradition of the journeyman, went to work as a designer in various European factories in Hungary and Germany. In 1932 she went to the Soviet Union, again working in various factories and eventually becoming director of the ‘China and Glass Industry of the Russian Republic’.

Phil Rogers - British studio potter 
Phil Rogers is a British studio potter and author of several pottery books. Rogers studied at Newport College of Art from 1969-70, at Swansea College of Art from 1970-72 and at Swansea College of Education, University of Wales, from 1972-73. He taught at two Comprehensive Schools in Cambridgeshire from 1974-77 and briefly at Staffordhire University in 1986.

Uraguchi Masayuki  - Japanese Celadon Master. 
Uraguchi Masayuki was born in Tokyo, 1964. He studied ceramics at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music learning the secrets of celadon with Living National Treasure Miura Koheiji. He established his kiln in 1991 and has since become on of the 'stars of celadon' in Japan. Works have been shown at the Japan Ceramic Art exhibition, Asahi Ceramic Art exhibition, and the Japanese Traditional Arts and Crafts exhibition; all are juried exhibitions. One man shows have been at Japan's most prestigious galleries including Mitsukoshi, Takashimaya, Fujinoya, and Tenmaya, amongst others.

Regina Heinz - Austrian-British sculptor. 
Regina Heinz originally trained as a painter at the academy of fine arts in Vienna. She then studied at the School of Applied Arts in Geneva from 1988-89 and at London Guildhall University from 1989-93. She was awarded a Post-graduate Diploma by Goldsmith’s College, London, in 1991 and an MA in Sculpture by the Wimbledon School of Art in 1995. She has been a member of the * Craft Potters Association since 1998. Regina makes hand-built, abstract sculpture, reliefs and wall pieces decorated with colored glazes, *slips and oxides. She cites as her inspiration the mountainous landscapes of her home country Austria.

Harding Black - American studio potter. 
The American studio potter Harding Black was born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1912. Black had no formal training, but learnt wheel-throwing from fellow American potter Rudi Staffel in 1933. Inspired by Native American pottery, be began hand-building earthenware in early 1932 and developed a distinguished career that spanned more than six decades.
